Five tower defence mistakes almost everyone makes at first
Most people lose their early tower defence runs the same handful of ways, and I've made every one of these mistakes myself. The good news is they're all easy to correct once you notice the pattern.
The biggest one is dumping every coin into new towers instead of upgrading. Two upgraded towers usually beat four weak ones, because damage scaling in these games is rarely linear. Before you place another tower, ask if an upgrade would do more.
Second, people ignore the wave preview. Almost every decent tower defence game tells you what's coming, and reading that ahead of time is the difference between prepping for armor and getting steamrolled by it. Get in the habit of checking it every wave.
Third and fourth: spreading defences too thin, and forgetting about map choke points. A single well-placed slow tower at a corner where enemies bunch up is worth more than three towers scattered along a straight. Look for the natural bottlenecks and build around them.
Last one is impatience. Selling and rebuilding mid-wave in a panic almost always makes things worse. Trust your setup, watch what actually leaks through, and adjust between waves instead of during them.
