Keeping your phone alive during long strategy sessions

Strategy and tower defence games can run long, and nothing ends a good session like a low-battery warning during the final boss wave. A few settings changes make a real difference here.

First, drop the frame rate cap if the game offers one. Most tower defence games look fine at 30 or 60 and barely lose anything visually, while an uncapped high refresh rate drains power fast. The battle rarely needs 120 frames.

Screen brightness is the other big drain. Playing indoors at anything under full brightness saves a surprising amount, and many of these games are dark enough that you won't miss it. Turning off background haptics helps a little too.

If you play the same game a lot, check whether it has a battery or low-power mode buried in options. Plenty do, and they usually cut effects you won't notice while keeping the core visuals intact. Small tweaks, but stacked together they buy you a lot of extra playtime.
